Experience the Magic of Myofascial Release

Fascia, which is the sticky substance between muscles can get bunched up when our bodies experience stress, whether it’s dehydration, injury, inflammation, repetitive activity—you name it.

During a WholeFrog® therapeutic bodywork treatment, our therapist will locate the myofascial areas that feel stiff and stuck instead of elastic and movable.  A gentle, sustained pressure is applied to points of restriction (those bunched up spots), allowing the connective tissue to release.

The tissue is then restored to its optimal length which decreases pain, and improves overall function.

Myofascial release fixes anything muscular including frozen shoulder, back pain, neck pain, migraines and more.

Myofascial Release is the magic wand in our therapist’s toolkit that helps unravel those stubborn knots and tension.

This practice is deeply rooted in the belief that our connective tissues can become tight, restricted, or injured, causing discomfort and limiting motion.

Our skilled practitioners utilize various methods, such as sustained manual pressure, state-of-the-art tools, and our own FullRange movements, to release the fascia’s tightness and encourage relaxation. This aids in restoring optimal blood flow and flexibility while reducing pain and improving overall mobility.

By addressing these restrictions in the fascia, our approach aims to not only alleviate immediate discomfort but also address the root causes of chronic pain, allowing our clients to experience lasting relief and enhanced body function.

Here are some common body issues that can be treated with myofascial release massage therapy:

Muscle Tension: Myofascial release can help release tension in muscles caused by overuse, poor posture, or stress.

Muscle Imbalances: It can address muscle imbalances, where certain muscles are overactive or underactive, leading to discomfort and potential injury.

Chronic Pain: Conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic back pain, and tension headaches may benefit from myofascial release therapy.

Limited Range of Motion: Frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, knee issues and more, myofascial release can improve flexibility and range of motion.

Sports Injuries: Myofascial release can aid in the rehabilitation of sports injuries by reducing scar tissue formation and promoting tissue healing.

Postural Issues: Poor posture can lead to muscle imbalances and pain. Myofascial release can help realign the body and relieve associated discomfort.

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction: Myofascial release techniques can be used to alleviate tension and pain in the jaw muscles associated with TMJ dysfunction.

Sciatica: Sciatic nerve pain, often caused by compression or irritation of the sciatic nerve, may be alleviated through myofascial release therapy targeting the muscles and tissues surrounding the nerve.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Myofascial release techniques applied to the forearm and wrist muscles can help relieve symptoms associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Plantar Fasciitis: Tightness and inflammation of the plantar fascia in the foot can be addressed through myofascial release techniques to reduce pain and improve mobility.

Post-surgery Rehabilitation: Myofascial release can aid in post-surgery recovery by reducing scar tissue formation, improving circulation, and restoring mobility.

It’s important to note that while myofascial release therapy can be beneficial for many conditions, it may not be suitable for everyone, and individuals should consult with a qualified healthcare provider or massage therapist to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for their specific needs.
